Ricky Ponting's Shame File

As uber-accurately predicted yesterday, the Poms wrapped up the match around lunchtime yesterday.

But we hold back my promised thesis on Little Captain Punter as the anti-Steve Waugh to present, via email, a loyal blog reader's well-researched Ricky Ponting Shame File:
"Punter notches another impressive record to his belt. The first Australian to lose a test at Lords since 1408. It's quite the highlight reel:
  • First one day loss to Bangles
  • Almost first Test defeat to Bangles until a Dizzy double ton saved the day
  • First Ashes series loss in 20 years (that's 2005, coming soon... the sequel: Ashes 2009 - Just when you thought it was safe to sledge the Poms)
  • Worst coin toss decision in the history of cricket (again, 2005 Ashes... Now, let's see, the best fast bowler in the world has just been ruled out at the last minute, how can I restore order to my bowling line-up...)
  • Highest one-day innings of all time (record held for about 4 hours)
  • Highest one-day innings conceded of all time
  • Helped Mick Lewis achieve similar stats in the bowling arena
  • Best hissy fit ever at 2005 Ashes series (followed by 2006-7, 2009 series)
  • Fastest exit from a Twenty20 tournament
I'm sure there's others in there and the list continues to grow..."
Shame, Little Captain Punter, shame. I'd put the Eyes of Katich in here to condemn thee, but it barely seems adequate.

No idea what his toss record is.

But I do know his Ashes record in England is about to become 2 series, 2 losses.

What a little weiner.
